CAUAYAN CITY, Isabela—Showcasing the rich dance culture of the Philippines, Mart One Department Store is staging its “Philippine Festival Dance Contest” on April 29 at the Plaza Mayor de Balanga in Bataan, featuring the famous festival dances of various provinces in the country.

Jennifer “Gwen” Bautista, Mart One regional manager North 2 Store Operations Department, said the nationwide summer campaign of the retail chain of the Expressions company will feature the country’s popular festival dances. They will be performed by eight different dance groups that were pre-qualified during local screenings held in selected destinations where Mart One is present.

The winning dance group will take home P100,000 and an additional P30,000 to be donated to the group’s chosen charity. Mart One will also give P8,000 in cash and P2,000 worth of gift certificates as consolation prizes and P10,000 cash with P3,000 worth of GCs for the voters’ choice award, Bautista added. Jessica M. Bautista is confident that Mart One will serve its target market more through this promotion, as the retailer “was born out of the need of provinces for an urbanized shopping experience” as it offers their best of Metro Manila’s goods. It offers a wide range of affordable items in fashion, houseware, and health and beauty products, among others.
