Moreno creates transition team

Manila City Mayor-elect Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso has created a transition team a month before he takes office to ensure a smooth transfer of leadership.

In a one-page letter to outgoing Mayor Joseph Ejercito Estrada dated May 24, Domagoso advised his camp to coordinate with his team to ensure a “smooth local governance transition” upon assumption of newly-elected officials on June 30.

The letter was formally transmitted to Estrada’s office on Monday morning, May 27.

The mayor-elect’s transition team is composed of City Councilor Bernardito C. Ang (incoming secretary to the mayor), Felixberto D. Espiritu (incoming city administrator), lawyer Emeterio “Jun” S. Moreno Jr. (incoming city legal officer), and former Transportation Undersecretary Cesar B. Chavez (incoming chief of staff).

Ang is serving his third term as Councilor for Manila’s third district, while Espiritu formerly served as Councilor for the city’s fifth district.

Moreno was formerly a professor of Mayor-elect Domagoso and had previously served as Assistant Secretary under former Interior Secretary Ronaldo Puno, while Chavez previously served as Transportation Undersecretary for Railways.
