The lights are up, the stage is set. The biggest coaching and leadership event in Southeast Asia – the International Coaching Summit 2019, unfolds on November 8 at the Conrad Hotel, Manila, with over 500 aspiring and Professional Coaches, Corporate Leaders, HR and OD Practitioners, Entrepreneurs, Consultants, and Educators expected to attend.

The International Coach Federation (ICF) Philippines Chapter, led by its President, Alma Horn, ACC, is hosting the Summit, waving the theme “Engage, Empower and Excel.” “We are very excited about the learning outcomes, given the formidable line up of knowledge resources we have put together for the delegates,” she says. “Global experts and top-rated speakers will be joining us to present new perspectives and new tools, relevant to such strategic concerns as developing talents, building cultures, supporting personal and business goals, and moving organizations forward.”

Eileen McDargh, master facilitator and award-winning author opens the conference with a discourse on human connection – “Talk Ain’t Cheap… It’s Priceless! Connecting in a Disconnected World.” McDargh is ranked number one in the World’s Top 30 Communication Gurus, issued by British-based Gurus International in 2018, following a global survey of 22,000 business professionals.

Dr. Marcia Reynolds, Master Certified Coach, founding member and 5th global president of the International Coach Federation (ICF) talks about how to “Turn Difficult Conversations into Positive Results that Empower and Inspire Excellence.” The Training Director for the Healthcare Coaching Institute of Virginia Tech, Dr. Reynolds also teaches for coaching schools in China and Russia, and is recognized by Global Gurus as among the top three coaches in the world.

Dr. Sherry Yellin, author of the book, “Unforgettable Leadership: 7 Principles for Leading, Learning, and Living,” and owner of The Learning Connection, Inc. will focus on the debilitating impact of threat and stress on a person’s ability to perform and lead, through her presentation—“Your Brain on Threat.” Dr. Yellin combines her command of brain-based learning with her experience as a director, entrepreneur, and consultant, to equip leaders to be extraordinary.

The Plenary Sessions will include a Panel Discussion on the Coaching Practice, with Dino Araneta, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of QuadX Inc., Albert Raymund O. Tinio, former Chief Executive Officer of GCash, and Jocelyn Lacida, Marketing Director of Wyeth Nutrition, as panellists. These corporate leaders will share first-hand experiences in implementing and assessing the impact of organization-wide coaching programs.

“Our Plenary Speakers will also be conducting simultaneous hour-long learning sessions so delegates will have a range of interesting topics to choose from, during the breakout sessions in the afternoon,” Horn adds.

Joan Cook, Master Certified Coach and founding member of the ICF Global, joins the breakout session speakers, bringing to the table her experiences at Ernst & Young, where is the lead for executive coaching and consulting support in Latin America, and delivers the firm’s high-performing teams methodology to client-facing teams in Mexico and the US. She will talk about “Transition Coaching at EY: Building Better Leaders Faster.”

The Summit provides room for simultaneous breakout sessions, including live coaching on-site and coaching consultations, with the full support of allied organizations, including Benchmark Consulting, Haraya Coaching, Security Bank, Alveo, Diamond Motors, Kantar, ORSC/CRR Singapore, P&A Grant Thornton, and TALENTVIEW.

ICF Philippines founder and the country’s sole Master Certified Coach, Julius Ordonez envisions the event to be a major platform for skilling up, as well as advocating wider and more robust practice of professional coaching. “It is a powerful intervention for bringing out the best in individuals and organizations,” he stresses. “We are working to build the coaching community and ultimately, bring the benefits of coaching to more and more people, across age groups and sectors.”
