Of course, every Miss Universe's win is nothing without the set of gowns she remarkably wears in the pageant. For the case of Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray, the set of gowns that she wore in the Miss Universe journey was applauded for its uniqueness and symbolism to Philippine elements, creating its own intensely impactful presence online. It made every Filipino proud as the tiniest details of each gown has a touch of Filipino tale attached to it. The brilliant man behind these gowns is the one and only creatively remarkable, Mak Tumang.

Filipina beauty continues to be recognized around the world, with it becoming more evident and a huge deal for Philippine beauty pageant enthusiasts with the number of titles our representatives have bagged in several beauty pageants. 2018 was an additional glory for the world of beauty pageant, as Miss World Philippines 2016 Catriona Gray was recently crowned as the Miss Universe 2018.

To share Catriona Gray's Miss Universe journey with a larger audience, Mak Tumang exhibits his creations for the first time in Metro Manila at SM Mall of Asia from March 16 -23. A wider crowd will now be able to further appreciate, take photos and see the nine gowns worn by Catriona in person as Mak Tumang launches his iconic collection entitled "THE UNIVERSE: Celebration of World Class Talent" at SM Mall of Asia on March 21.

Starting from the pieces worn during the Miss Universe pageant in Bangkok, Thailand – the "Mayon&quot" gown inspired by a Filipino natural wonder – the Mayon Volcano and the "ADARNA" which is inspired by the (bong Adarna – a mythologicalnous bird prominent in Filipino folklore. The collection also includes the pieces from Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray's homecoming namely, "SAMPAGUITA", which is an ode to the Philippine National Flower and Leaf – Sampaguita and Anahaw respectively; "ALON", a tribute to the beautiful and pristine seas of the Philippines which are among the world's most diverse; "CORALES", a gown that depicts the Philippine coral reefs which are home to a unique marine biodiversity; "PERLA ORIENTE" which is made from drawing inspirations from the historic and romantic epithet of the Philippines: Pearl of the Orient Seas.

Adding to the set are pieces from Binibining Pilipinas Finals, "SINAG", which symbolizes the sun's rays found in the Philippine flag and the Filipino's concept of hope; gown worn during theMiss World After Party in USA, the "PARU-PARO" which is inspired by the Philippines' as one of the great reservoirs of diverse and endemic Fauna and lastly, the “BITUIN”, an ode to the shining stars which are also prominent components of the Philippines flag worn during the ABS-CBN Ball.

The celebration of Filipino artistry and flair extends for further appreciation as the collection will be transferred S Maison from March 24-28, 2019.
