Daiso Japan Launches Sakura-themed Store

The Sakura or the trees engulfed in small, pale pink flowers has been around for centuries in Japan. So is the practice of Hanami or the ritual of viewing the Sakura whilst drinking sake, eating bento and contemplating the true meaning of the flowers. When spring arrives, it blooms only for two weeks and thus reminds the people to value the present because our lives are short-lived. Yet, it blooms at the mere hint of spring where it symbolizes a new beginning or the coming of a new era.

Daiso Japan Flagship Store on its’ first day

Just like the coming of a new era for Daiso Japan.

Daiso Japan recently launched a Sakura-themed flagship store in Robinson’s Galleria following the success of another similarly themed store in Tuguegarao. It was inspired by the Sakura and the Japanese art of minimalism.

“The inspiration behind the theme is basically Sakura being an iconic, and beloved flower of Japan and Daiso is in totality a representation of everything Japanese.” Says Bernice Jayne Chioa-Bunoan, the Marketing Services Manager of Daiso Japan.

The new design of the store offers Sakura-pink accents with the elements of pale colored wood and stainless steel. The new layout of the store adheres to the principles of minimalism, making it easy for the eyes and even easier to navigate.

The store flaunts its’ new products especially the cute, pink-colored ones that follow the theme. More specifically the line of Hello Kitty-themed products like Hello Kitty perfumes, cosmetics and more.

Minimalistic approach to the store

Daiso Japan pride themselves for the variety of practical and functional items that range from kitchen essentials to stationery products to laundry utensils and many more. They have over 70,000 products sold with the price starting Php88. The store promises quality, variety and most of all uniqueness when it comes to their products that come from the land of the rising sun.

Ever since being established on December 1977 in Japan, Daiso Japan has propagated to have 3,000 stores all over the world making it possible to provide high-quality products at lower costs. The very first store of Daiso Japan in the Philippines was established on April 29, 2009. With this new, fresh theme fitted to the modern times, the next stores that will open will have the same theme while the others will be renovated.

But that is not all, along with the launching of the store, Daiso Japan treated their guests to a bento making workshop led by Lourdes Vindollo-Labii, a registered nurse and a proud mommy blogger behind ‘Nanay’s Lunches with Love’.

During the workshop, participants were able to create cute and appetizing bento lunches with the use of Daiso Japan’s very cute and useful kitchen tools. Many of the guests also went home with cool prizes and hauls of their favorite Daiso Japan items.

Of course, the launching wouldn’t be complete without Hello Kitty herself coming over and making sure everyone’s having a great kawaii-filled day.
