Asiana Airlines (Asiana Philippines GSA, Inc), and its Travel Agency partners visited the Amado T. Reyes Elementary School in Buayang Bato, Mandaluyong City last May 23, 2018, as part of their 2018 Corporate Social Responsibility.
To support the School Feeding Program, the group donated tableware and cookware. The group also rehabilitated the School Vegetable Garden by providing fresh soil and planting vegetables such as eggplant, tomato, ampalaya, petchay, mustasa, among many more, in time for the coming school year.
The aim of the group’s corporate social responsibility initiative is to achieve food security and to improve nutrition which is in line with the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goal No. 2: Zero Hunger.
“This program will surely benefit not just the school but also the community that the school envisions to shape. The program encourages the youth to eat healthier so that they can face the future with vigor and determination,” Asiana Airlines said in a statement.
“We at Asiana Airlines look forward to serving these students as our future passengers,” quipped
Mr. Kee Phal Tae, Regional Manager/CEO of Asiana Airlines
The school expressed their gratitude on their Facebook page, writing: “We, the Amado T. Reyes Elementary School community are very grateful to ASIANA AIRLINES and their partner travel agencies who have provided really vital support to our school.... Thank you to all of you for being a part of this wonderful endeavor.”
The school also acknowledged Rajah Travel Corporation, Ark Travel Express Inc., ISS GMT, Travel People, VIA Philippines Travel Corporation, and Pan Pacific Travel Corporation for their participation.
The group’s CSR initiative “Planting to Achieve Food Security and Improved Nutrition” is also in support of the Brigada Eskwela 2018, a nationwide program by the Department of Education (DepEd) which mobilizes volunteers to help repair and maintain public schools.
