Television host Willie Revillame sold his Dornier 328 jet to DMCI Holdings Inc. director Jorge Consunji last year, sources said.
Revillame acquired the same aircraft four years ago from Consunji. The comedian used the aircraft for his travels to Macau, Asia’s gambling capital, and leased it out to celebrities like Justin Bieber, sources said.
Consunji bought back the aircraft from Revillame at a lower price. It was earlier reported that Revillame bought the plane in 2011 for P200 million.
According to sources, Revillame, who took a break from TV, sold his plane after allegedly losing millions to gambling. Revillame reportedly splurged his money in Solaire Resorts in Parañaque City, losing nearly P150 million in the casino in just one night, sources said.
Enrique Razon, chairman and chief executive of Bloomberry Resorts Corp., operator of Solaire, rarely dismissed the Revillame tale.
Revillame, however, remains in possession of his luxury car, Ferrari 458, thanks in part to GMA Network Inc., which gave him another chance at hosting.
The TV host recently signed a contract with GMA-7 as a blocktimer for the program “Wowowin.” There were reports that the contract with GMA-7 barred Revillame from gambling in casinos.
