Generika-Ayala tries to bounce back from a sorry loss when it clashes with listless Marinerang Pilipina in the Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference today at the Muntinlupa Sports Center.

Game time is at 7 p.m. with the Lifesavers looking to claim their sixth win to solidify their spot in the upper half of the team standings of this women’s club league bankrolled by Team Rebel Sports, SOGO, Eurotel, PCSO, Cocolife, UCPB Gen, Mueller, Senoh, Asics, Bizooku and One Sport.

Meanwhile, PLDT Home Fibr seeks to improve its standing when it faces lowly Sta. Lucia in the first game at 4:15 p.m.

F2 Logistics, which is looking to end Petron’s two-year reign in this midseason conference, remains on top of the standings after winning eight consecutive matches.

The Blaze Spikers, for their part, is at the second spot with an 8-1 win-loss card while Foton is riding the crest of a six-game winning streak to remain at the third spot with 7-3.

Foton’s latest victim is Generika-Ayala, but Lifesavers’ head coach Sherwin Meneses is not yet ready to push the panic button.

“It’s not yet time to panic. We still have a long way to go. The conference is just on its second round of eliminations,” said Meneses, looking calm and composed despite suffering a three set loss to the Tornadoes, 16-25, 26-28, 15-25, last Saturday.

Meneses said they will go back to the drawing board and bank more on Patty Orendain, Fiola Ceballos and skipper Angeli Araneta on offense with Ria Meneses, Kath Arado and Bia General manning the defense.

“I reminded the team not to dwell on this loss. What’s important is that we learned our lessons and we bounce back next game,” Meneses said.

Winless Marinerang Pilipina, on the other side, is itching to get out of the slump and end a seven-game losing drought.

Veteran Ivy Remulla will again be at the helm with Seth Rodriguez, Judith Abil, Caitlyn Viray and Chiara Permentilla lighting up the scoreboard for the wards of coach Ronald Dulay.
