National University made quick work of UP Integrated School, 25-13, 25-14, 25-19, to move to within a win of jumping straight to the boys’ Finals Saturday in the UAAP Season 81 high school volleyball tournament at the Blue Eagle Gym.

Mac Bandola fired four service aces to finish with nine points, while Michael Fortuna added seven markers as the Bullpups needed only 58 minutes to beat the Junior Maroons and extended their perfect run to 13 matches.

Only Far Eastern University-Diliman stands NU’s way of making it to the best-of-three championship outright.

The Bullpups go for a 14-0 sweep in their 12 noon duel with the Baby Tamaraws Sunday at the FEU-Diliman Gym.

In other matches, Adamson University bested FEU-Diliman, 25-20, 25-22, 25-18, University of the East downed Ateneo, 25-3, 25-17, 25-21, while defending champion University of Santo Tomas overwhelmed De La Salle-Zobel, 25-19, 25-16, 25-15.

The race for the last three semis spots remain hanging in the balance, as the Tiger Cubs and the Baby Tamaraws, both sporting 9-4 cards in second spot, are just a game ahead of the Junior Warriors and the Baby Falcons, who have identical 8-5 slates in joint fourth.

In the final day of eliminations Sunday, UST will take on UE at 9 a.m. in a game that could decide the semifinal cast, as Adamson University has a light assignment in De La Salle-Zobel at 10:30 a.m.
