Singaporean sensation Amir Khan feels that he is capable of taking Eduard Folayang to deep waters when they meet inside the ONE Championship cage on Friday, 23 November.

Amir Khan: A KO artist who has the ability to end bouts by submission

Khan, 24, is set to duke it out against Folayang for the vacant ONE Lightweight World Title in the co-main event of ONE: CONQUEST OF CHAMPIONS, which takes place at the state-of-the-art Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines.

Coming off a first-round submission victory over Folayang’s comrade Honorio Banario this past September at ONE: BEYOND THE HORIZON, Khan predicts that the beloved Filipino superstar is out to avenge his teammate in front of a hometown crowd when they collide for the available gold-plated strap this coming 23 November.

"I think it’s a really interesting story because I beat his teammate. They are similar fighters, and I feel like Eduard Folayang is just a slightly better version of Banario," he told onefc.com.

"Obviously, Eduard Folayang wants to get revenge for his teammate for the loss. I think it will bring the best out of him, and I know it will bring the best out of me," Khan added.

The Singaporean Muay Thai Champion is mostly branded as knockout artist, but Khan has also shown through the years that he has the ability to end bouts by submission.

According to Khan, his biggest advantage heading to the match against Folayang is his versatility and unpredictability.

"I feel my biggest advantage is my ability to mix everything up together. He will be guessing my every move. I feel that’s my biggest advantage in this fight," he said. "I know he won’t be taking me down. I know he wants to keep his mid-range kicks, and he wants me to be the aggressor to time his spinning attacks.”

"The thing is, he does not know what I’m going to do. I might strike with him, and I might take him down. I’m going to mix it up. This round I might put pressure on for the takedowns, the next round I might work more on my boxing," Khan explained further.

However, Team Lakay has proven their capacity of coming up with a game plan capable of catching their foes off guard.

In spite of this, Khan promises that he will surprise Folayang in front of his own Filipino fans at ONE: CONQUEST OF CHAMPIONS.

"I feel it’s hard to prepare for me for this fight. He won’t be expecting what I’m going to do. I feel this is just a challenge for me. A challenge to get the belt [in front of] his home crowd," he predicted.
