Makati FC joins Asian Cup

The Makati FC’s boys’ U11 team is currently competing in Jakarta, Indonesia for the three-day Asiana Cup.   

Among those teams which were invited to compete are TCFA from Taiwan, T-Eleven and Asiana from Indonesia, Rowville Eagles from Australia, Jim Thompson from Thailand, NFDP from Malaysia and Bears from Laos. In the tournament which will last until Sunday, the teams will meet in a round-robin series, where three points will be awarded for a win, one point for a draw and zero for a loss.  

This will be the last international tournament that Makati FC will be competing in for 2019. 

The multi-titled youth football club is set to compete in more international tournaments next year starting with TAR Asia Qualifiers 7-aside on Feb. 15 and 16 in Bangkok, where the winner will get an all-expense trip to Spain.   

Also lined up for Makati FC is JSSL Singapore 7, the biggest youth tournament in Asia with 400 teams competing from 17 countries on April 9 to 13, followed by two Europe sojourns – the Gothia World Youth Cup and another tournament in Denmark on July 5 to 22.

Makati FC recently emerged as the Borneo Cup champion for Boys U15 and silver medalists for U14 and 13 group. The club also won the SingaCup boys U14 gold and U13 silver.
