“As a total beverage company, the mission of refreshing people means providing people what they want when it comes to their hydration needs and beverage choices. Our 19 different brands in the Philippines—from your favorite Coca-Cola to our Wilkins Pure water to the newest Thunder Supersoda and more—allow us to cater to the requirements of the athletes, which are different from what the sports enthusiasts want to drink,” said Winn Everhart, President and GM of Coca-Cola Philippines.

Hosted by the Philippines, the 30th SEA Games feature 11 participating countries squaring off through 529 events in 56 sports. A total of 5,630 athletes will compete in different venues including the newly-built Clark City, the Rizal Memorial Stadium, and the Mall of Asia Arena.

“We are honored to be powering and supporting the best players in South East Asia, most especially our Filipino athletes who have dedicated their heart, sweat, and tears to make their fellow Filipinos proud,” Everhart added.

The Company, globally, is also a proud supporter of different sporting events with almost century-old partnerships with some. Everhart shared further, “The Company and all the brands we carry have long been committed to using events like the 30th SEA Games to advance and promote inclusivity amongst the different countries and build camaraderie despite differences in culture and race. At the same time, we also use these platforms to promote awareness on topics that are close to the heart of our business.”

He continued, “In the 30th SEA Games, we are actively working together with the SEA Games committee and the Philippine government to do capabilities training together with the volunteers on how to implement a holistic solid waste management system in the 529 events that are happening. This is aligned with our vision of a World Without Waste where we aim to collect and recycle the equivalent of every bottle or can we sell so that they do not end up as waste in places where they shouldn’t be. Truly, when we all work together—we win as one.”

Apart from providing the beverages in the 30th SEA Games, Coca-Cola is also actively doing an information education campaign together with the SEA Games organizers as well as the local government units hosting the games in educating people to properly segregate and dispose their waste to make this year’s event a litter-free sporting success.
