The team consists of John Daniel Mendoza (top), Michael Gonzales (jungle), Jan Edward Hortizuela (support), Isiah Loberiza (midlaner), Don Moya (carry), and PJ San Pedro (substitute).

Asked what made them win, team manager Theo Ignacio told the Manila Standard in an online exchange: “Same as any kind of sport, it’s practice everyday and conditioning of mind and body.”

The team took home P20,000 as prize.

“The only difficulty present was to make sure we weren’t surprised with their unorthodox tactics,” Ignacio added.

The Teletigers has four collegiate championships under its belt now. It was the third time they topped the Esports AcadArena.

The team claimed its first title in 2015 when the league was then known as the LoL Collegiate League. The España-based squad bagged the first championship under the current tournament name in 2017.

The Teletigers was also hailed as the champions of the 2018 Garena LoL Varsity League.

The Teletigers Esports Club is also among the eight teams which will compete in the national qualifiers of this year’s League of Legends SEA Tour.

The top team in the LoL SEA Tour 2019 Summer Split will represent Southeast Asia in the World Championship in October.

This weekend, the squad will face off with another team, Steelwolves Gaia.

LoL is a fast-paced and competitive online game developed and published by Riot Games.
