SEAG organizers find new venues; MOA back as host

Organizers are finally resolving the need to find additional venues that will be held in the coming Southeast Asian Games.

Lake Caliraya in Laguna Province, for one, can provide answers to the Philippine SEA Games Organizing Committee’s bid to host water sports activities.

This includes rowing, which cannot be held at Subic Bay for lack of proper facilities.

“We’re looking at Lake Caliraya. We’re looking at the other side of Taal Lake,” said Tom Carrasco, senior deputy director general of the PHISGOC.

Carrasco said this after they learned that Subic Bay Freeport in Olongapo City, Pampanga does not have the proper facilities.

The Phisgoc, according to Carrasco, is now resolving issues concerning shortages in venue.

The Rizal Memorial Sports Complex has been reconsidered as a choice of venue for many events.

As for the very popular basketball games, regular competitions are now back at the Mall of Asia Arena.

But the 3×3 events will stay at the FilOil-Flying V Sports Center in San Juan.
