Baguio mayor-led CJH is virtual super senior champion

Baguio City– Baguio mayor Mauricio Domogan scored 29 points and led anew Camp John Hay Club to a 94 for a three-day aggregate of 289 as the co-hosts virtually clinched the inaugural Super Senior title of the 69th Fil-Am Invitaitonal golf tournament at the Baguio Country Club course today, Dec. 4.

Korean national and retired architect Park Jong Won had a solid 28 as he backed the Baguio mayor even as Carlos Nano and Jun Tolete added 19 and 18 points, respectively, for the newly introduced division for players 70 years and older.

Golf F Veteran is a distant second with 223 points after a 72, 66 points off the leader. The only uncertain thing in the division is the third placer, which could either go to Team Hollywood II or Residences at Brent with the former ahead by only three points. Team Hollywood has a 175 after shooting a 49, while the latter made a third day output of 53 for 172.

Park, who played for the winning CJH Seniors Fil Championship team from 2013 to 2015 and with Pugo in 2016, also leads the individual race with 84 and two up on his mayor teammate. The next best placed golfer is Jun Bugaco of Golf F – Veterans who has a three-day total of 69, 13 down on the mayor.

It will be a thrilling fight in Regular Fil G Thursday after EK Amigos made their move at the BCC greens to cut the lead of three-day leader Bibak New York to only one.

Rodante Pangilinan, Danny Wong, Ricky Dimarucot and Ferdie Matias were steadier at the short and tricky BCC course where they combined for 66 points to finally gain a headway and 233 points to move to within a point off the leader.

Bibak NY managed 62 points on the 25 of Lindley Hora, 15 of Reggie Reyna, 13 of Donnie Leonor and nine of Jimmy Martin.

A distant third is Eaglemasters at 208 after a 63.

Yokosuka Rinsing Sun thrived at the longer CJH course as they shot an 87 for 222 points to overtake two-round leader IGC – Tugegarao. The Cagayanos managed 67 points only for 220 aggregate setting up another spectacular finale for the Am G title.

Team Foretee stayed at third spot with 205 after a 72.
