Jose Mendiola Cordero of Tarlac City, father of The STAR senior sportswriter Abac Cordero, passed away yesterday morning due to illness. He was 83.
He is survived by his family, including his children Vicente, Marida, Marijen and Enrico, in-laws Jean and Anne, grandchildren Diego, Domino, Tasha and Belle, siblings and other relatives.
Born on Feb. 23, 1935, Cordero spent his life in Tarlac City and in Quezon City. He lived and worked in New York City for 10 years until 1999. His wife, Teresita Sta. Maria, passed away in 2006.
Internment is set Sunday. “‹
