SPORTS facilities that will be put up inside the Clark Green City will be made available for the 2019 Southeast Asian Games.
Newly designated organizing committee chairman Allan Peter Cayetano said this will be possible within the next two years, since a certain area of Clark Field in Pampanga is high in the priority list of the Duterte administration in terms of development.
“We have to meet and see what’s doable,” said Cayetano.
Not only are they thinking of holding some of the games inside the new Clark Green City in Pampanga, the Philippines Arena in Bulacan, and some facilities in Zambales are also being considered.
Cayetano said the momentum of development which is going to happen in Clark Field will make things possible for the country as host.
“With the hosting of the Games, the momentum(of development) will push this,” said Cayetano.
Forty sports disciplines that were featured in the 2005 SEA Games will also most likely be featured in the 2019 SEA Games when the Philippines hosts it again two years from now.
POC president Jose “Peping” Cojuangco Jr. said this is what he is now pushing in the ongoing SEA Games Federation Council meetings.
They will happy to know that we will be hosting it again. And they will not be anxious to know what are the events (that will be played,” said Cojuangco.
In the 23rd edition of the Games, organizers back then put in the highest number of sporting events in the entire history SEA Games at that time.
