PH bet Fama places third at Test of Will

Philippine delegate Raje Fama placed top three among the 12 contingents in the grand finale of Southeast Asia Test of Will 2017 held recently at Berjaya Times Square in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Brunei’s Michael Mogard and Jemima Djatmiko of Indonesia emerged the best male and female winners in the the ultimate urban fitness challenge organized by US high performance sportswear label Under Armour.

The grand final had 12 national representatives across six nations competing for the title of Champions of Test of Will 2017.

These contestants emerged from a pool of close to 2,000 participants for the opportunity to represent their country to compete in a series of training challenges that emphasize on power, strength, agility, endurance and stamina.

The excitement of the Test of Will 2017 was heightened by performances from professional dancer, Suhaili Micheline; and jazz singer, broadway actress and entrepreneur, Atilia Haron.

The event brought together top fitness enthusiasts across the region and witnessed the participation of Under Armour Brand Athletes from Brunei and Thailand as well.

The Test of Will 2017 Final fitness challenges consisted of eight rounds of exercises—Vertical Leap, Bodyweight Bench Press, Burpee Box Jump, Airdyne Bike, Battle Rope Double Slams, Over/Under Hurdles, Military Tire Drill, Agility Ladder on Hands, Suiide Sprint, Slam Ball Over Shoulder, Pull-ups, Metric Mile, Car Pull, Goblet Squats, Kettle Ball Swings, and Sand Bag Lunge Walk. 

“Members of our gym back in Brunei kept me going when I faced tough challenges,” said Mogard, three-time winner of a major fitness competition in Asia and fitness coach. “My workout routine for the Test of Will was more intense and specific. The days leading up to the event were the hardest.

Djatmiko, for his part, said she has been “embarking on strongman workout programs for the past two months and was surprised that it helped with the functional challenges we had to take on during the final.”

“One of my greatest passions is not just to be an athlete, but to learn more, be a coach and act as a mentor to others who want to be fit and healthy.”
