Sepfourteen eyes Triple Crown

IN a rare bid to slam the Philippine Racing Commission Triple Crown, Sepfourteen joins the lineup of runners competing in the third leg on Sunday, June 30, at Santa Ana Park.

The racetrack, located in Naic, also played host to the second leg which saw Sepfourteen narrowly trounce stablemate Brilliance to further his own chances at the elusive crown for elite 3YO.

Sepfourteen goes up against fellow colts Batang Poblacion, Brilliance, Golden Kingdom, Great Wall, Hiway One, Mount Pulag, Pangalusian Island, and two fillies Smokin Saturday and Brilliance.

Philracom offers a prize of P1.8 million for first, with corresponding purses up to fourth, and a breeder’s prize of P100,000.

Also running on Sunday at Santa Ana Park are the Hopeful Stakes and the 3YO Locally-Bred Stakes. The former is a four-horse field, with Bossa Nova, Cerveza Rosas, Metamorphosis, and Stockholm. In the latter are Battle Chacha, Caloocan Zap, Kingship, Lemonada, Oceanside, Puerto Princesa, Salt and Pepper, Sikat, Stravinsky, and Temecula.

All three races are to be run over 2,000 meters.
