Iniong continues climb up standings

Gina Iniong tries to continue her climb up the ONE Championship standings when she takes on Istela Nunes at ONE: Battle for the Heavens on July 7, Saturday at the Tianhe Gymnasium in Guangzhou, China.

Iniong of Baguio City’s Team Lakay will try to follow up her dominant victory over one-time world title challenger Jenny Huang on the undercard of ONE: Heroes of Honor Heroes of Honor last April 20 at Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.

Iniong will try to improve her seven-win, three loss card against the dangerous Nunes.

Meanwhile, 19-year-old Muay Thai phenom Yodcherry Sityodtong of Thailand will take on “Killer Bee” Kai Ting Chuang of China for the inaugural ONE Super Series Kickboxing Atomweight World Championship in the main event of the card.

Sityodtong was confident that she would come out the victory against Chuang.

“I am a hundred percent ready to give the performance of a lifetime. I’m still young and my career in ONE Championship is just starting, but I have big plans and it all starts at ONE: Battle for the Heavens. Kai Ting Chuang is a worthy opponent and I am not taking her lightly. This is going to be an amazing show,” said Sityodtong.

In the co-main event of the evening Tatsumitsu Wada battles Reece “Lightning” McLaren while Andre Meunier takes on Ibrahim El Bouni in a ONE Super Series Kickboxing match.
