WATCH: Filipino striker downs foe but taps out in the end

Filipino fighters are known for their solid striking but ground game has proven to be their Achiles’ Heel.

Take this case in a mixed martial arts match at the Singapore Fighting Championship.

AJ Diapolet of the Philippines knock downed his opponent Solomon Chong from the Sabah, Malaysia, with one-two combination in the first round.

Wearing black shorts with red waist stripe, Diapolet quickly pounced on Chong for follow-up punches.

The Filipino even tried to pull a mount on the back but the Malaysia grappling master, got a good hold and reversed the situation.

They were asked by the referee to take the center at the reset. This time, there was no stopping Chong for an easy submission win via guillotine choke.
