Currently the league’s hottest team, co-league leader TNT KaTropa aims to keep the fire burning as it looks to book a seat in the quarterfinals of the 2019 Philippine Basketball Association Commissioner’s Cup.

The Terrence Jones-led Tropang Texters (6-1) will be heavily favored when they tango with Columbian Dyip (1-4) at 4:30 p.m. at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City.

In the second game, a rivalry will be renewed as Alaska (4-3) locks horns with struggling San Miguel (1-3) at 7 p.m.

The Tropang Texters are riding high on their four-game winning streak and they are looking for more.

With the NBA veteran Jones backstopping TNT’s attack, the Tropang Texters are rolling up top, something they haven’t tasted for quite some time already.

Jones dropped a career-high 49 points in TNT’s 104-91 rout of Meralco last Saturday.

TNT coach Bong Ravena admitted that Jones’ scoring prowess makes it easier for his team.

However, he still seeks constant local support for them to keep piling up wins.

“Terrence is tremendous for us. He makes every game easier,” said Ravena. “However, out locals still need to step-up and help.”

The Dyip fell short in its last outing, losing to Magnolia, 103-110, last Sunday.

While it has been an up and down campaign for the Aces, the Beermen are yet to find their championship groove thus far.

The Philippine Cup champions have only managed a single win at this point and is looking to start turning things around.

Both Alaska and San Miguel have dropped their previous assignments.

A win will be critical for both as they aim on moving up the latter in the chase for a berth in the quarters.
