The 2019 NBA Finals featuring Eastern Conference champion Toronto Raptors and Western Conference champion Golden State Warriors opens in Toronto, Canada on Friday and will air live on both ABS-CBN and S+A at 9 a.m.

Days after booting out the Milwaukee Bucks and MVP frontrunner Giannis Antetokounmpo in clinical fashion, Kawhi Leonard and the Raptors face their biggest test to date in their fantastic playoffs run: unseating the Warriors from their throne.

Having one of the best two-way players in the man they call the “Klaw,” the Raptors battled through six tightly-contested games in each of their series against Philadelphia 76ers and the Bucks in the Eastern Conference. Many have doubted a deep postseason run for the Raptors owing to their head coach, Nick Nurse, is only on his first year. It wasn’t helped by the Raptors dropping Game 1s against both the Sixers and Bucks.

However, many Raptors fans believe their team has what it takes to challenge the star-studded and three-peat seeking Warriors thanks to Leonard’s supporting cast of veterans Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka, Kyle Lowry, and the vastly-improved Pascal Siakam.

On the other hand, the Warriors do not have the home-court advantage for the first time since they started making the annual trip to the Finals. They also have missed the services of two former Finals MVPs in Kevin Durant and Andre Iguodala. However, these do not mean their opponents will have an easier time as they have shown in the Western Conference Finals against the Portland Trailblazers. The Warriors still have enough firepower behind the original troika of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and ultra-versatile forward Draymond Green, and their multi-titled coach Steve Kerr.
