At last, Columbian Dyip was able to break into the win column.

It took 10 games, but the Dyip managed to put up a solid outing to finally list a win at the expense of Rain or Shine, 100-84, snapping its nine-game losing streak in the 2018 Philippine Basketball Association Governors’ Cup last night at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.

King had 18, while McCarthy and Ronald Tubid each added 16 marker.

Putting up its best game in the tournament thus far, Columbian Dyip finally broke through as it led by double-digits for most part to stun a shell-shocked Elasto Painters and end its prolonged woes.

The already-eliminated Dyip hacked out a victory to avoid a winless campaign as it improved to 1-9 with one game left in its schedule.

The loss was huge for Rain or Shine as its bid for a place in the Top 8 took a big hit.

Not only did its two-game winning streak got snapped, the Elasto Painters fell to 2-5 and remained outside the magic eight as they sit at No. 9, currently.

The good thing for them is that they still control their fate, having four more games remaining in their schedule.

For a change, Columbian Dyip woke up on the right side of the bed as it was able to seize control early and maintain its surge until the win was preserved.

The Dyip won the second quarter by eight points to carry over a sizeable 50-39 lead into halftime.

Prior to that, it was already able to establish its twin-digit lead midway the second frame to set the tone for the rest of the game.

Keeping its foot on the gas pedal in the second half, Columbian Dyip was able to sail through as Rain or Shine simply had no answer.

Rain or Shine was led by Terrence Watson in the losing cause with the reinforcement scoring a team-high 18 markers.

The scores:

Columbian 100—Wright 23, King 18, McCarthy 16, Tubid 16, Cahilig 13, Reyes 5, Corpuz 4, Celda 3, Ababou 2, Khobuntin 0, Escoto 0.
