TNT KaTropa erased an 18-point fourth quarter deficit with a stunning endgame uprising to shock the NorthPort Batang Pier, 104-102, for its third straight win in a thrilling contest in the 2018 Philippine Basketball Association Governors’ Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum Sunday night.

Marqus Blakely capped his game-long brilliance with a tough go-ahead left-handed lay-up with 6.8 seconds left to give the Tropang Texters a 104-102 edge with the game on the line.

He also played a vital part on the other hand to seal the win, deflecting the ball from NorthPort to enable his team to complete its amazing comeback.

Terrence Romeo stepped up for TNT KaTropa, scoring a game-high 25 points with eight assists while Blakely tallied 23 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double effort as the twosome powered the Texters to victory.

TNT KaTropa continued its climb up the standings. It improved to 4-4 while the woeful NorthPort remained winless, dropping to 0-6, tying Columbian Dyip at the bottom.

TNT was trailing by double-digits for almost the entire game and was still down by 18, 95-77, with just under nine minutes left in the contest.

The Tropang Texters then mounted a huge comeback, uncorking a 19-1 run, anchored by Romeo and Blakely, to tie the game at 96 with three minutes remaining after back-to-back triples from the spitfire from Far Eastern University.

TNT eventually built a 102-98 lead in the waning seconds but NorthPort wasn’t about to fold that easily.

After getting fouled from three-point land, Sean Anthony made his first two free throws to make it, 102-100, before missing his last.

Paolo Taha came out of nowhere and elevated over everyone to complete a  putback, tying the game at 102 apiece with 15 second left.

Blakely had the last say as his game-winner was the game’s most important bucket.

NorthPort was in cruise control for majority of the contest before having the huge meltdown.

It was up by twin-digits from the first period all the way to the fourth, even holding a 23-point edge early in the third period.

But it was once again unable to finish the game strongly as TNT slowly but surely ate up its lead before snatching the win in the end.
