GlobalPort took charge in the final three quarters and muscled its way to a smooth 133-115 dismantling of Columbian Dyip for a pivotal win that enhanced its chances for a slot in the quarterfinals in the 2018 Philippine Basketball Association Commissioner’s Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum last night.

It was all about Stanley Pringle’s career night.

The prolific spitfire had the most remarkable night of anyone this season, exploding for a career-high 50 points on 18 of 30 shooting highlighted by nine triples, to go with five rebounds and six assists to lead GlobalPort to the much-needed win.

It was the first 50-point game of a local in 14 long years.

With Pringle scoring at will, GlobalPort swiftly shook off a slow start and turned the tide in the second quarter to smooth-sail the rest of the way.

GlobalPort had a 41-point outburst in the second quarter to take a 66-56 advantage at the turn.

The Batang Pier continued their surge until eventually putting the game out of reach.

Pringle’s exploits allowed the Batang Pier to rise to fifth place at 5-5 in the standings.

GlobalPort now controls its fate as it just needs to win its final assignment to formalize its entry in the quarterfinals.

On the other hand, the defeat eliminated Columbian as it finished outside the top eight with its 4-7 slate.

Malcolm White added 28 points and 14 rebounds, while Sean Anthony had 12 markers and 17 boards for Globalport.

But the night simply belonged to Pringle, who couldn’t be stopped.

The Dyip actually had a nice start, taking a 16-6 cushion early in the first but that proved to be its best stretch.
