THE Far Eastern University Tamaraws have a great chance to reach the Final Four of the 80th University Athletic Association of the Philippines men’s basketball tournament.

And in order to make it, the Tams will need to win their last two games in the second round, including their 2 p.m. duel with the National University Bulldogs at the Araneta Coliseum.

Coach Nash Racela said a lot of improvements will have to happen to the Tams’ game if they want to hurdle the Bulldogs.

“One is our slow start, another is our turnovers. But as a coach, I take a look at the positives and that’s on our second  half (performance),” said Racela after they stopped the University of the East Warriors, 79-63, last Sunday.

As the Tams seek their 7th win in 13 matches, Racela said their strong second-half performance against the Warriors helped them win the game.

And he is upbeat that the team will show that same intensity against the Bulldogs in the second half as well.

“I hope we carry that momentum we got in the second half against UE in our Wednesday game,” added Racela.

The Bulldogs are struggling to stay in contention with their 4-8 slate.

Later, the unbeaten Ateneo Blue Eagles will clash with the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons at 4 p.m.

The Blue Eagles own a 12-0 card, while the Maroons have a 4-8 slate in sixth.
