WINNING their last two games is important for the defending champion La Salle Green Archers.

Doing so will assure the Green Archers the no. 2 seeding in the Final Four semifinals of the 80th University Athletic Association of the Philippines men’s basketball tournament.

“We have to focus on our last two games. They’re important and we have the Blue Eagles to take on,” said Green Archers big man Ben Mbala.

The Green Archers now have a 10-2 record in second spot after they smothered the University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers, 94-59,  last Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The Adamson Falcons are close behind with their 8-4 record and are in a position to take the no. 2 spot if the Falcons hurdle their games with the University of the Philippines and Far Eastern University.

Aside from the Blue Eagles, the Green Archers still have the National University Bulldogs as one of their remaining rivals.

“We just have to stick to the system. Depensa talaga,” said Mbala’s teammate Ricci Rivero.

Because of the Green Archers’ need to prepare well for every game, coach Aldin Ayo has decided to remain silent.

For the  last seven games of the Green Archers, Ayo has kept quiet, staying  focused on dealing with the team’s many ups and downs.
