Pirates, Maroons prevail in Milcu tilt

THE University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons, the Lyceum Pirates and De Ocampo Memorial College turned back their respective foes over the weekend to stay in the lead of the 25-under action of the Milcu Sports Basketball presents Got Skills Premier League at the Lyceum gym in Intramuros.

Akhuetie Bright and Kenneth Villaruaz topscored for 19 points as the Fighting Maroons turned back La Salle, 55-36, to stay in the solo lead with their 10-1 win-loss record.

Ken Soriano shot 17 points as the Pirates demolished La Salle, 79-50, to improve at 8-3 in the 14-team seniors’ bracket.

Jonard Clarito made 19 points for DOMC as it won over Letran, 81-75.

Miguel Oczon tallied 32 points as the National University Bullpups-A prevailed over the National University Bulldogs-B, 82-79.

Darrell Caranguian led with 14 points for DOMC as it won over Technological Institute of the Philippines, 64-56.

Renato Ular starred with 11 points in Letran’s 69-42 win over La Salle.

In the 19-under semifinals, La Salle-Zobel whipped Far Eastern University, 48-43,  with Prince Carlos making 14 points.

In the 17-under side, Adrian Custodio chipped in 14 points in La Salle-Zobel’s 73-54 outplaying of Trinity.
