CW Home Depot, Chiba and Scoria Grill scored similar easy victories over their respective rivals, while Robins and SYF pulled off exciting wins in the resumption of the LGR Hoops Season 4.

Iman Balagtas went perfect from the foul line, sinking all of his eight shots on his way to finishing 18 points in powering CW Home Depot to a 66-42 rout of Teledirect Wolpack at the Titan Love Court in Fort Bonifacio.

CW Home Depot used a fiery run in the fourth period, while holding its rival to only five points in coming away with the convincing triumph.

Balagtas also got solid backing from Harold Lomton, who contributed 13 markers in carrying their team to the win in the Corporate Division of this event sponsored by Bugsy’s, Rain or Shine, Titan, NBA Store, Gatorade, BTV, Golds Gym, Zarks Burger, Kartilya, SYF and Ybalai.

More than 90 teams are competing in different divisions of the LGR Hoops, the fastest growing recreational league for people from all walks of life.

Players from Scoria Grill and Quicksilvers jostle for better rebound positioning.

Derick Hubalde, son of PBA great Freddie Hubalde, found a sanctuary playing for Chiba in the Novice Plus Division.

A former star of the University of Santo Tomas, Hubalde erupted for 28 points, including five triples while carrying Chiba to a 74-61 triumph over High Hoops  at the Golds Gym.

But Hubalde’s scoring spree was nearly overshadowed by the high-scoring pair of Jun Panarez and James Candelaria, who combined for 44 points, nearly half of the points produced by Scoria Grill in their 87-74 beat down of Quicksilvers in the 38 and above division.

There were also some exciting windups in one of the many scheduled games lined up.

Robins edged Mackay Lions, 58-56, in their Novice Division match as Eman Banzali and Jerald Salas combined for 38 points to lead their team to victory, but it was Lean Acero, who scored on a transition basket with one tenths of a second left to lift Robins to a scary win.

Robins trailed in the early goings, 49-34, at the half, but rallied in the second half.
