KIA hires former GlobalPort import

KIA Picanto finally has an official import for the 2017 Philippine Basketball Association Governors’ Cup.

After original choice Chane Behanan was measured over the height limit last week, Kia scrambled to look for a replacement with less than a week before the opening of the season-ending conference and it was able to find one, a familiar face.

The Picanto are tapping former GlobalPort import Markeith Cummings to be their reinforcement.

This was right in the nick of time as Kia is scheduled to play Phoenix in the initial game of the tournament tomorrow at 4:15 p.m.

Cummings suited up for the Batang Pier in the same tournament four years ago in 2013, helping his team then make the quarterfinals.

Aside from that, Cummings has been a veteran in the NBA D-League.

He will have an acid test right away in his first game back as he is set to face returning prolific import Eugene Phelps of the Fuel Masters.
