Bora hosts international bodybuilding tournament

Arguably the world’s best beach in the world in Boracay Island, Aklan hosts the best bodybuilders from the Philippines and the Asian region during the twin competitions the 7th National Bodybuilders Association (NABBA) Asia Pacific International Amateur Championships 2013 and the UB C2 Ultimate Boracay which will be held May 2. The Cebu Workout Fitness Center’s Dennis Delgado organized the NABBA event which is sanctioned by the NABBA International as well as the Samahan ng mga Barbelista ng Pilipinas. Lee Soriano of Mad Man Events is the promoter. The competition will be held at the Beach Front of La Carmela de Boracay. Delgado also organized the Phil-Asia International Bodybuilding Championships held at the Mariners Court in Cebu City last year. Other than the top local bodybuilders participants will come from the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, India, New Zealand, Thailand, Philippines, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia, Iran, Nepal, Singapore and Malaysia.

The contests will be for both men and women. In the 7th NABBA Asia Pacific contest categories for men include Notice, Short, Medium, Tall, Masters and Athletic. Categories for women are Fitness, Bikini, Figure and Physique. The division champions of the NABBA Asia Pacific 2013 competition will automatically qualify to the finals of the UBC2 Ultimate Boracay male category. The contestants in the Physique Division of the NABBA Asia Pacific 2013 competition will automatically qualify for the finals of the UBC2 Ultimate Boracay female category. The top contenders among the men are Dennis Jeros of Malaysia and Pun Kishor Kumar of Nepal. Among the women a top local bet is Lilibeth Ampal.
