IN-FORM Pauline del Rosario continued to dish out stellar play abroad, ruling the 25th SICC/DBS Junior Invitational Golf Championship 2016 via an emphatic 13-stroke romp at the Singapore Island Country Club last Thursday.

Del Rosario used a near-flawless opening round seven-under 65 at the SICC Island course to seize control then coasted in the last two rounds with 72 and 71 to run away with the Class A and overall championship in the host country’s premier amateur championship won by former The Country Club spearhead and now pro campaigner Princess Superal.

“It’s nice to be on top again and keep our winning tradition in the event,” said Del Rosario, whose 208 total was 13 shots over Indonesian Ribka Vania, who actually stayed within striking distance of the ace Filipina shotmaker with a 67 in the first round but faltered with a 73 and 77 in the last two ays for a 221.

It was Del Rosario’s third straight victory in four weeks as the new TCC spearhead, the former Thailand Ladies Amateur Open champion, also dominated the Melaka Open and Penang Open in Malaysia.

Riding the crest of her back-to-back victories in Malaysia, Del Rosario opened with three straight birdies then ripped the backside of the par-72 layout with four more birdies for that 65. She slowed down with a 72 in the second round on a one-birdie, one-bogey effort and her closing 71 proved enough to clinch her the crown as Vania fumbled with a bogey-riddle 77 on the hilly layout.

Mika Fortuna, the other TCC bet, placed third in Class A with a 223 after a 77.
