The Angel Locsin-led primetime series The General’s Daughter (31.3 percent) snagged the third spot with its action-packed episodes every night, while Search for the Idol Philippines (29.5 percent) made a huge splash with its debut, soaring instantly at number four.

TV Patrol (28.3 percent) remained as the choice newscast of Filipinos, rounding out the top five. Meanwhile, Kadenang Ginto (25.3 percent) shot to number seven, continuing to be the most-watched afternoon show nationwide that also consistently trends online. The other programs that make up the list are Halik (25 percent), which also recently held its finale, Maalaala Mo Kaya (24.5 percent), and Dreamscape’s newest weekend program, Hiwaga ng Kambat (23.5 percent).

With the consistent strong performance of Kadenang Ginto every afternoon, ABS-CBN’s afternoon block (3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.) average audience share shot up to 51 percent, or 22 points higher than GMA’s 29 percent. This is the first time this year that ABS-CBN’s afternoon average audience share breached 50 percent.
