GMA Network sets programming schedule for the Lenten season

In commemoration of the Holy Week, GMA Network rolls out an inspiring and heart-warming Lenten programming schedule from Maundy Thursday, April 18 to Black Saturday, April 20.

Maundy Thursday opens with the family comedy “Hotel Transylvania” at 5:00 a.m.; and a tale as old as time in “Beauty and the Beast” at 6:30 a.m..

Join and reflect in the journey in the Holy Land via the travel show #MichaelAngelo Holy Week Reflections at 8:00 a.m..

Tune in for a cluster of award-winning films that imparts the meaning of love, life, and faith in “Shrek” “Titanic” and “Noah,” at 09:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., and 1:30 p.m., respectively.

GMA News and Public Affairs’ Front Row delivers a documentary episode “Pasan” at 3:15 p.m.  

Learn about the value of forgiveness in the heart-wrenching episode of Stories for the Soul entitled Kasama Mo Ang Diyos” at 3:45 p.m. featuring Kapuso actor Benjamin Alves. It is inspired by the early years of Joseph The Dreamer who at a young age was subjected to a number of painful events in life, brought about by his family.

At 4:30 p.m., witness a compelling drama special in #MichaelAngelo Holy Week Drama Specials.

Kapuso actor Kristoffer Martin plays Nestor Quilat, a juvenile delinquent who grew up in the streets and was in and out of jail in CBN Asia’s Holy Week special Tanikala: Buyonero” at 5:30 p.m. 

Afterwards, take a look back at the first two weeks of GMA’s extraordinary epic-drama series Sahaya featuring the inspiring story of a determined and special Badjaw who rises above all difficult circumstances in life at 7:00 p.m..

Ultimate Star Jennylyn Mercado and newest Kapuso Derek Ramsay’s romantic flick All of You” starts at 10:00 pm to be followed by a replay of #MichaelAngelo Holy Week Drama Specials at 11:30 p.m.. 

On Good Friday (April 19), GMA’s Lenten programming begins with one of the kids’ favorite films, “Barbie Video Game Hero” at 5:00 a.m.. 

Afterwards, start up your day with the moving story of “Jesus” at 6:00 a.m. and “Women of the Bible” at 7:00 a.m.. Meanwhile, the travel series#MichaelAngelo Holy Week Reflections continues at 8:00 a.m..The animated fantasy adventure “Up” will surely warm the hearts of the viewers at 9:00am. 

Internationally-acclaimed religious program “Power to Unite” starts at 11:00 a.m. hosted by Ms. Elvira Yap-Go.

Recall Jesus’ seven last words in the cross as reflected on by the Order of Preachers broadcasted live from the Sto. Domingo Church via “Siete Palabras” airing from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m. to be followed by GMA News TV’s Front Row documentary episode “Nebulizer” at 3:00 p.m..

Inspired by the Story of Job in the bible, Stories for the Soul brings forth Tinig Ng Pananalig” featuring Gabby Eigenmann and Valerie Concepcion at 3:45 p.m..

On Black Saturday (April 20), kids will have another dose of their favorite movies in the morning beginning with “Hotel Transylvania 2” at 5am, and “Tarzan”at 6:30 a.m.. Meanwhile, the final episode of #MichaelAngelo Holy Week Reflections airs at 8:00 a.m..

An entertaining line-up of films is in store for the Kapuso viewers beginning with “Despicable Me 2” at 9am; “Minions” at 10:30 a.m.; and “Superman Returns”at 12:00 noon. Catch the Biblical epic movie “Ben Hur” at 2:00 p.m..

At 3:15 p.m., GMA News TV’s Front Row documentary entitled “Anak ng Gubat” tells the story of a 14-year-old boy who works hard and carries sacks of copra and charcoal just to earn money in order to go to school.

Join Kris Bernal and Thea Tolentino as they portray the story of sisters with different pursuits and priorities in life much like Martha and Mary of the Bible, in Stories for the Soul episode “The Better Sisters” at 3:45 p.m..

The #MichaelAngelo Holy Week Drama Specials follows at 4:30 p.m..

Come 5:30 p.m., Barbie Forteza and Derrick Monasterio star in the romantic movie “Almost A Love Story” to be followed by APT Entertainment’s Lenten Special“The Journey” topbilled by multitalented Kapuso actor Alden Richards at 7:00 p.m..
