GMA Artist Center has tasked the New York City professional acting teacher and his co-teacher, actress Ana Feleo, to supervise more thoroughly the education and growth of the artists.

During the culminating activity held on Jan. 15, Bova praised the GMAAC stars for their willingness to improve on their craft and their “bravery” to tackle their emotional and psychological being in their character portrayals.

“I am very proud of them. Now, I can say that they are not afraid to take their space on set and take their space in life. No matter what training you have, if you don’t feel entitled to take your space, that training will not help too much. They are very brave artists,” he noted.

Ana echoed his sentiments and added that the artists are now more equipped to take on different and challenging roles, “I’ve seen them grow in a short time, at ngayon nakilala nila ang sarili nila at mas naging confident sila na mag-explore ng iba’t-ibang roles at emotions.”

Meanwhile, highly-esteemed director Laurice Guillen, emphasized the importance of workshops, especially for young artists, “It’s really on equipping the actors na pumasok sa industriyang ito na hindi naman lahat may training. This will help them become fully professional actors na kahit saan sila isalang, equipped sila to deliver remarkable performances. Acting is painstaking work, taking them step by step through the process.”

GMA Entertainment Group Senior Vice President Lilybeth G. Rasonable commended the positive results of the program and the commitment of the artists to showcase what they have learned, “I’d like to congratulate GMA Artist Center, most especially Anthony Bova and Ana Feleo, because they did an excellent job. Over the past year, we’ve seen the great improvement of our artists and it’s because of all these efforts that they have been pouring into the project and of course, ‘yung dedication din ng mga artista natin,” she said.

GMA Senior Assistant Vice President for Alternative Productions Gigi S. Lara, in turn, is delighted with the success of the training program, “We’re very happy that we were able to partner with Anthony Vincent Bova. It’s not just acting that he thought our artists, he really communicated with them and explored their personalities and capabilities. I witnessed it from the first day they started, ang daming improvements sa acting, ang daming openness na nangyari, at mas matapang na sila ngayon in attacking their roles.”

Also an actor, writer, and artistic director, Bova is a protégé of famed acting coach Eric Morris, who has taught some of the best actors in the Philippines, including Laurice Guillen, Johnny Delgado, Leo Martinez, Michael de Mesa, and Joel Torre, among others.
