From its grand debut in May to consistently winning its timeslot, there’s no denying that Inday Will Always Love You (IWALY) is a certified massive hit.
And up to the very end, viewers are in for more explosive scenes from the hit rom-com series headlined by Barbie Forteza, who plays the bubbly Happylou Magtibay.
Ericka (Kim Rodriguez) is back to put Happylou’s life in danger again. While on board a vehicle, a big accident involving her, Happylou, and Patrick (Derrick Monasterio) takes place forcing the car to plunge into the river. A life will be sacrificed.
Meanwhile, Amanda (Gladys Reyes) flees from the mansion after successfully retrieving the money she kept for herself. And until the very end, she will stop at nothing to ruin Happylou’s family.
Church bells are ringing and it seems there will a double wedding. But will Happylou and Patrick have a happy ending when Amanda continues to come between them?
Produced by GMA News and Public Affairs, IWALY marked Barbie’s return to primetime. It dominated not just the ratings game but also made a buzz on social media during its pilot episode last May 21. Since then it continued to be one of the top programs on the primetime block.
Barbie admits she feels sad that IWALY has reached its finale.
“Even good things must come to an end,” she shares, adding that she will definitely miss the new family she made in doing this project, most specially her co-stars.
Asked about her takeaways from doing the series, Barbie says she further learned “How to be a smart actor. Don’t just do the scene, work it.”
Viewers and netizens praised the way IWALY put Cebu on spotlight—showcasing the unique beauty and rich culture of the province. The cast went to Cebu not just once but several times during the entire making of the series to capture Cebu’s local flavor, the beautiful sceneries, the dialect, and the sights and sounds of the province.
Not only did IWALY paint the colorful stories of Cebuanos, it also showed the picture of a Filipino family putting their faith and their love for one another at the center of everything as they face and deal with every day’s struggle at life. IWALY has won the hearts of viewers all over the Philippines, enough that it was extended for another season last August.
Now that the series is coming to an end, Barbie only has words of appreciation to all the viewers who made IWALY a hit that it is.
“Thank you so much for watching the series since day one until the end. I will forever be grateful for your support,” she says.
