More Filipinos nationwide instantly fell in love with the story of eternal life and love in The Promise of Forever. The Kapamilya series starring Ejay Falcon, Ritz Azul, and Paulo Avelino recorded high national TV ratings and beat its rival program.
Kantar Media figures say the series’ pilot episode on Sept. 11 posted a national TV rating of 18.4 percent versus Haplos’ 15.6 percent. More viewers also continued to tune in to the Kapamilya series the following day (18.1 percent), compared to rival program’s 16.7 percent.
Netizens were also captivated by the series, which led the list of trending topics online and garnered thousands of tweets.
The Promise of Forever introduced viewers to Lorenzo (Paulo Avelino), the elusive “immortal man” now known as Nicolas, and Sophia, (Ritz Azul) whose dream is to become a female crew member of a cruise ship to help her family.
Destined to cross paths again, they board the same ship going to Europe.
