High rating for ‘Tawag Ng Tanghalan’s’ second year debut

Viewers nationwide watched the first contenders of “Tawag ng Tanghalan” showcase their vocal chops as it returned in It’s Showtime last Monday to kick off the second year of the most exciting vocal battle in noontime.

According to data from Kantar Media, It’s Showtime posted a national TV rating of 18.3 percent and drew more viewers compared to Eat Bulaga (15.7 percent).

Battling contenders from Metro Manila, Visayas, and Mindanao, Cavite musical director John Mark Saga stood out as the competition’s first daily winner and now a second-day defending champion. 

On its second year, Kapamilya dreamers from all over the world can soon join the singing competition through auditions online and The Filipino Channel (TFC).

A bright future also awaits the next grand champion of “Tawag ng Tanghalan,” who will get P2 million, a house and lot, a brand new car, a ‘negosyo’ package, a music instrument package, appliance showcase, and a recording contract.

While the first “Tawag ng Tanghalan” and “TNT Kids” grand champions Noven Belleza and Jhon Clyd Talili came from Visayas and Mindanao, respectively, from which part of the country will the next grand champion come from?

“Tawag ng Tanghalan” in It’s Showtime airs weekdays and Saturdays on ABS-CBN and ABS-CBN HD (SkyCable ch 167).
