All 23 candidates of Wowowin’s “Gandang Filipina 2017” were able to exhibit their hometown’s distinct traditions on national television, but Michelle Arceo of Mandaluyong City was the most graceful of them all.
With the distinguished panel of judges including GMA Films and GMA Worldwide President Annette Gozon, GMA First Vice President Joey Abacan, esteemed Filipino designers Avel Bacudio, JC Buendia and Randy Ortiz, Arceo won the hearts of the people with her wit and charm.
Arceo grew up in America, but she decided to go back to the Philippines and care for her mom who sacrificed a lot for their family. Now that she has been crowned as the first Gandang Filipina winner, she has decided to give back and offer her winnings to her mother.
Aside from P500,000 cash, Arceo also took home a brand new car. Her fellow winners, 2nd Runner Up Lady Justerinnie Santos of Bulacan took home P100,000 cash, while 1st Runner Up Camille Angelica Canlas of Cebu won P50,000.
