Kapamilya actor Gerald Anderson gets a new leading lady in a new film that’s opening in cinemas nationwide. The actor has developed into a veritable leading man to a lot of actresses in the Star Cinema lot since his days in Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) and as fellow reality-TV alum Kim Chiu’s love team.

Anderson has romanced some of Star Cinema’s leading ladies, including his rumored belle Bea Alonzo in How To Be Yours (2016).

Now, the actor is giving his peers in the industry reason to be shaky as he is paired with Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach.

Fresh off the record-breaking success of The Revenger Squad, this is Wurtzbach’s second big-screen outing.

Gerald Anderson and Pia Wurtzbach team up in Star Cinema's newest big screen offering.

The film, titled My Perfect You, is also director Cathy Garcia-Molina’s new film project. Speaking with reporters, Wurtzbach and Anderson said the film marks back-to-back firsts for both of them – working with each other, and with Garcia-Molina.

“Kakaiba siya,” Anderson, 28, said of his role. “Look test pa lang namin, challenging na.”

Wurtzbach, also 28, said she was excited even before shooting started.

“Sana marami akong matutunan. Sabi nga ni direk kanina, ‘Aaalisin ko ‘yung pagiging Miss Universe mo.’ Game naman ako!” she said.

Wurtzbach added, “Napapanood ko na si Gerald noon pa lang, at alam kong magaling talaga siya. Na-tsa-challenge ako na kailangan galingan ko, kasi ang galing niya!”

Molina, meanwhile, said she wasn’t expecting instant chemistry between her lead stars, but at the press conference last Saturday, she said she was surprised that the two had developed during the course of the shooting a very good chemistry.

“Yes, that was really what I wanted to happen, not instantly but gradually,” the director said. “Every day, as we worked together, doon ko lang nakikilala kung sino sila. Every character was a work in progress. When we went along, that’s when we saw the magic. It just came out, naturally, in time.”

It seems the two lead stars have a good time playing each other’s character during the shoot of the movie and it shows in the trailer.

Do catch the film if you have the time, you might just fall in love with the new screen pairing of Star Cinema.
