Now, anyone can be a filmmaker with his iPhone. Even acclaimed directors are using mobile phones to shoot their movies.
Steven Soderbergh shot Unsane entirely using an iPhone. Soderbergh reportedly was greatly impressed with the quality of iPhone, “I think this is the future,” he said in recent interviews. “Anybody going to see this movie who has no idea of the backstory to the production will have no idea this was shot on the phone. That’s not part of the conceit.”
Soderbergh directed the highly successful heist trilogy Ocean’s Eleven, Ocean’s Twelve, and Ocean’s 13.
His latest horror thriller features Claire Foy (Netflix’s The Crown) and is about a woman who was involuntarily confined to a mental institution after failing to prove to the authorities that she is being followed by a digital stalker. Within the asylum, she gets to confront her greatest fear – is it real or is it a delusion?

ANC, the ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC) formally welcomed entrepreneur and financial expert Quintin Pastrana as its newest anchor when he was introduced as the new co-host of On The Money and the resident business expert of ShopTalk on the country’s premier 24/7 all-English cable news channel.
“I look forward to working with professionals whether they be fellow anchors or the great production and marketing team that make ANC what it is as an institution,” he said.
Quintin said his entry to the Philippines’ no.1 local cable news channel was like coming full circle as he was invited by On The Money co-anchor Salve Duplito to join the show five years ago, before he ventured into TV work.

Fringe Ph, through its Manila Fringe Festival 2018, the largest city-wide festival in the metropolis, presents as one of its featured artists the Bohol Dance Project Company, a newly formed contemporary dance ensemble in Bohol developed through the collaboration of French choreographers and Boholano dance groups. The program entitled A Blue Evening will showcase three original dance creations at the Maybank Theater/ BGC Globe auditorium at 7 p.m. on Feb. 23. The show is free of charge.
The Bohol Dance Project Company, currently an ensemble of four Boholano dancers, is an initiative brought about by a series of dance workshops every summer since 2015 when French choreographers and dance teachers Guillaume Morgan and Nicola Ayoub conducted two week-long trainings for local dancers and choreographers through the auspices of the French and American governments and the Provincial Government of Bohol.
A Blue Evening consists of three numbers – “Blue Way”, choreographed by the Romanian guest choreographer Gigi Caciuleanu; “Mula Sa Kaibuturan,” danced and created by Rama Marcaida; and “Apat” specially choreographed for the company by Marcaida.
The four Boholano dancers are Jay Banquil, Jerrey David Aguilar, Marvin Ablao, and Yassie Nalo.
According to Andrei Nikolai Pamintuan, festival director of Fringe Manila 2018, “Since its first iteration in 2015, the Fringe Festival has taken over Metro Manila and has opened the Philippine arts scene up to exciting new forms of theatre, literature, music, dance, visual art, film, cabaret, performance art, spoken word, circus and every genre in between. An open-access, uncensored arts and community festival, Fringe focuses on showcasing fresh, daring, groundbreaking new work by emerging and established artists from the Philippines and from all over the world. It has, for the past three years, produced over 300 events, showcased the works of over 2000 artists, and has attracted over 50,000 attendants.
