Jay Taruc rides again

Many thought when Motorcycle Diaries folded up on GMA News TV not so long ago, the multi-awarded broadcaster and motorcycle rider Jay Taruc will never be seen on his bike riding the countryside ever again.

No, a rider will always be a rider, show or no show.

Luckily, with his entrepreneurial spirit, Taruc put an independent team and organized Ride Ph,  a new show also on GMA News TV.

Taruc starts revving up his bike as he begins riding again for the late night program.

Ride Ph with Jay Taruc is a half-hour tele-magazine show focused on all things motorcycle. “The Rider’s Profile” and “My Ride” segments feature riders and their exceptional love affair with their bikes. Biker groups share their club’s experiences in “Bike Tribes.”

What are the latest motorcycle products, models and services? Find out what’s in the market in “Motor Trends.”

"RIDE PH." In his new magazine show, broadcast journalist Jay Taruc focuses more on motorcycles and riding safety.

Relevant issues concerning motorcycle riding are discussed in “Motor Issues.”

Ride Ph promotes “mototourism” with “Bike Stops and Bike Routes” that feature hangouts and routes around the country.

The docu-traveler in Taruc comes out in “Jay Riding” as he discovers compelling stories during his rides. One of the features to look forward to for the first season is the historical Himalayan Team ‘Pinas adventure ride.

As the motorcycle riding community in the Philippines continues to grow, more and more road accidents have also occurred.  Along with its host, Ride Ph advocates safety riding and aims to be a platform for educating the riding public about road safety. Guidelines and tips on road safety will be the focus of “Bike Hacks” and “Rider E.R (Education on the Road).”

Ride Ph is proudly sponsored by Dickies, BMW, Shell Philippines, Spyder, Uratex, Loctite, Big Bike Tech, PTT Oil, Ducati Group, and many others and premieres on Aug. 20,  10 p.m. on GMA News TV.
