It seems the Kapuso guys are bent on making the first soap with Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza a real audience drawer. Recently, the production staff added another character to the series –Trish.

Who did they choose to play the role? Well, it’s none other than the emerging diva of character roles – Thea Tolentino!

Tolentino, a very versatile young actress and homegrown Kapuso, has been proving in the industry how effective she is in playing antagonist in many  series. Among the well-known roles she has played was the character of Ashley, the evil sister in GMA Network’s highly successful family drama series, The Half Sisters. Since then, Thea has become one of the network’s most sought-after contravidas. She was last seen in the recently concluded series Hahamakin Ang Lahat, also as the main antagonist.

“I have been groomed by the network to be the contravida,” she said during an interview with members of the press last week when the network decided to announce her entry to the primetime series with Richards and Mendoza.

She said that when she received the call telling her she should report to the set of Destined To Be Yours as she’d be playing an important part, she was overwhelmed even just by the thought that she’d be part of the show with the popular love team.

NEW VILLAIN ON THE BLOCK.
Kapuso teen star Thea Tolentino finds her niche in playing baddy roles

“Na-overwhelm ako, siyempre sila Alden and Maine yun eh,” Thea said. “Naghalo yung excitement, at kaba, kasi kailangan kong pantayan yung energy nung dalawa, kailangan makipagsabayan ako sa eksena.”

Trish, the character Thea is playing in the series, was raised in a refined family, ergo manifests poise as is usual among girls from a well-to-do families. Benjie loved Trish, the first and only ever loved, but she broke his heart. Trish cheated and left him for another man during their college days.

In the series Trish makes a dramatic come back and will she attempt to steal Benjie’s heart from Sinag.

Certainly, this creates complications in the already convoluted relationship between Benjie and Sinag. Will Benjie’s feelings for her be re-ignited?

Thea’s addition to Destined To Be Yours will definitely make your nightly viewing even more exciting. That is if you’re an AlDub fan.

Recently, a photo of Cristine Reyes with a bruise above her eye made rounds online after she was accidently kicked in the face by her partner Arci Munoz for their flying sexy girl act. Gab Valenciano and Daniel Matsunaga, on the other hand, developed blisters on their shoulders while practicing for their pyramid acrobat act. Last week, Daniel suffered a cut after being hit in the face with a yoyo.
