OPM diva Kuh Ledesma and balladeer Christian Bautista are set to bring back the fire of classic music at the Solaire’s The Tent on Oct. 20.
With the title Kuh Ledesma Christian Bautista Sing Streisand Groban Legrand, two voices will collide to sing the masterpieces of their inspirations in their musical career.
“Streisand inspires me to sing,” Kuh said as she was compared to the legend during the beginning of her stardom. As her “real voice teacher”, Barbara Streisand served as her guide and fueled her to sing hard songs.
“Streisand is like my life,” she added.
Christian started with Josh Groban’s songs when he joined Star in A Million, a television singing contest that aired a few years back.
“First of all, he has a great voice – and it’s always a delight working with singers with great voices. Second, he is a friend and brother in Christ, so that’s a bonus. Lastly, he’s good looking – what else can I ask for?” the “Till I Met You” singer said to Christian.
The Clash juror Christian, who is soon to be married to his fiancé Kat Ramnani, has had great success on the music scene. Started off with “The Way You Look at Me”, which received an acclaimed exposure in Indonesia, the singer is unstoppable in developing his craft.
“I’ve learned so much from her. As an artist, I admire the brilliance she injects in our craft. She knows how every little detail will flow and has total control of her shows. It’s an amazing opportunity to see how she does it and be able to sing with her on the same stage again.” Christian praised Kuh.
Additionally, Christian shared that he will only be off for a couple of weeks after his wedding before going back to the spotlight.
As a common thread that the artists and Solaire have experienced over the years, the concert is a merge of times and it will show how the time is a transforming force.
In the show, two singers may sing any song of the three artists, it could be Christian’s favorite “You’re Still You” by Groban or Legrand’s song entitled “What are you doing for the rest of your life” or Streisand’s song “Somewhere”, which is close to Kuh’s heart.
“Our, and of course the fans of Streisand, Legrand, and Groban, can definitely expect a deeper sense of connection in the songs that we will sing in the concert. It’ll be the music have fallen in love with, only this time more heartfelt.” Kuh vowed to the fans.
“The Tent seeks to accommodate Solaire’s ever-expanding entertainment fare. We can now simultaneously hold concerts and musicals in two spaces for our guests’ enjoyment,” Audie Gemora, Solaire’s Director for Entertainment, said.
He also promised for more concerts that will showcase local acts as The Tent is a step to help Filipino music to expand.
