GMA Network, through its international arm GMA International, warmly welcomed Filipino-American leaders, balikbayans, and tourists during the kick-off of the 12th Ambassadors’ Tour 2018.
The annual tour, which gives an opportunity for local government officials to showcase the beauty as well as the genuine warmth and hospitality of their constituents, was organized by the Philippine Embassy and the Philippine Consulate Generals in the US. During their welcome dinner in Quezon City, GMA presented world-class Filipino talent as balladeer Christian Bautista, singer Maricris Garcia, and actress Kris Bernal took the stage.
Christian made the gathering more special and memorable for all the visiting Kapuso abroad as he serenaded them during his performance. Maricris, in turn, showed her singing prowess as she belted out a popular movie soundtrack and an OPM song which hit close to home. Meanwhile, Kris’s upbeat musical numbers energized the crowd as they enjoy the rest of the evening.
The participants also had the chance to take photos with the artists after the program and were given souvenirs from GMA’s international channels GMA Pinoy TV, GMA Life TV, and GMA News TV International.
Held last July 8 to 15, the 12th Ambassadors’ Tour 2018 was headed by the Los Angeles Consulate Office under the leadership of Consul General Adelio Cruz.
“I would like to extend my profound gratitude to GMA Network and the men and women of GMA International for facilitating the participation of highly talented artists from GMA-7 during the 12th Ambassadors’ Tour, much to the enjoyment of its participants. Their performances were truly world-class,” said Cruz.
The participants also visited some of the top tourist destinations in the country such as Carcar, Sibonga, and Argao in Cebu. They were also able to experience the Loboc River cruise and visit the Tarsier Conservation Center, Baclayon Church, and Chocolate Hills in Bohol.
With a total of 320 participants from North America, the tour was attended by several VIPs headed by Philippine Ambassador to the US Jose Manuel G. Romualdez along with public servants, student leaders, community leaders, influencers from different fields of expertise, as well as local Philippine public officials and business executives
