Fiery performances, funny banters, good memories and a whole bunch of inspiration are just a few of the things that Riva Quenery promises to showcase on her one-night-only birthday concert on May 27 at the SM Skydome.

The former GirlTrends member who is performing solo for the first time admitted that she’s both nervous and excited being the main act.

“I used to appear in shows as a guest performer, now it’s a solo event. It’s all about me. I am going to showcase my talent in singing and dancing that’s why I’m in mixed emotions,” Riva said during a recent media conference.

Apart from giving her audience a taste of what she can offer as a singer and dancer, Riva’s birthday concert will also cater to the needs of less fortunate kids at the Tahanang Mapagkalinga ni Madre Rita.

“Every time I celebrate my birthday, I make sure na tumutulong ako sa mga street children.  It has become my advocacy,” she told the press.

Joining her on the show are her bosom buddies including Krissha Viaje and Sammie Rimando, as well as Hashtags member Zeus Collins and FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano star Awra Briguela and Star Magic talent Maris Racal.

GOING SOLO. Vlogger and former GirlTrends member Riva Quenery headlines a benefit concert at SM SkyDome.

“What’s exciting about the show is the new genre na gagawin ko, it’s something that local artists haven’t done before,” she said on what to expect in her birthday show.

The 20-year-old talent has been quite a figure on the local vlogging scene with her naturally quirky and intimately personal vlog called RiVlog.  Her YouTube channel, which she proudly runs solo, likewise earned its own stripe last year.

RiVlog received YouTube’s popular Silver Play Button award, a recognition that is given to vlogs that have amassed a total of 100,000 subscribers. Roughly a year since she started vlogging, Riva’s subscribers have more than doubled for she now has more than 400,000 followers on the popular video-sharing platform.

Dancing has always been Riva’s passion, as seen on the countless dance covers on her vlog, and the fact that she was tapped to be part of It’s Showtime’s GirlTrends.

One of her biggest dancing feats happened just last month, after becoming part of the local hip-hop dance group, Power Impact. Riva and the dance crew’s long hours of training eventually paid off as they placed third under the Team Division at the World of Dance Manila 2018.  She is also set to fly to Los Angeles, California to compete at World Dance Competition.

Riva’s concert is produced by Hermie Carreon and directed by Marvin Caldito, tickets can now be purchased by calling SM tickets at 470-2222 or visiting www.smtickets.com.
