GMA Network’s biggest telefantasya for 2017 Mulawin vs. Ravena had a grand debut on the primetime block on May 22.
Kapuso viewers gushed over the series’ superb visual effects and cinematic landscapes. The star-studded cast’s prowess in breathing life to their characters was also highly commended by netizens. The pilot’s official hashtag, #MulawinVSRavena, was trending even before the show began airing and soared to the top spot nationwide and third worldwide. One Twitter user with the handle @melogonzales said “The pilot episode of #MulawinvsRavena was really impressive. I think I’m gonna get hooked. Keep it up, GMA! In the story, it was shown that Gabriel (Dennis) recovered his ugatpak and embraced his fate as a Ravena because of Alwina’s rejection of his love. He returns to Halconia as the son of the late Ravena King and battles it out with Siklab (Dion Ignacio), the crown prince of Halconia, to prove that he is the rightful king of their tribe. Alwina (Heart) and her son Almiro return to hiding from the Ravena but Siklab captures both of them and brings them to Gabriel. This is when Alwina reveals to Gabriel that both of them have a son together.
Meanwhile, Sandawa (Regine Velasquez-Alcasid) sees a prophecy about an imminent war between the Mulawin and the Ravena and two new saviors.
Mulawin vs. Ravena airs weeknights after 24 Oras on GMA Telebabad.
