Following their successful Iloilo show early this year, Julie Anne San Jose and Christian Bautista’s The Sweetheart and the Balladeer: Fun Night Only returns to the concert stage on July 6 at The Atrium, Limketkai Center, Lapasan, Cagayan de Oro City.
Now on its second leg, the concert series promises an event full of world-class performances from the concert duo with Donita Nose and Super Tekla, and Kyline Alcantara as their special guest.
Balladeer Christian credits the success of their previous concert to the rapport he has with Julie Anne. He has nothing but good words for the latter whom he first worked with during her concert at Mall of Asia Arena.
“She keeps on getting better. She’s still good and beautiful. Her core is that she works hard. Even if she has taping and doesn’t have enough sleep, she’ll commit. That sets her apart from a lot of people, so that’s why it’s fun to work with her,” Christian told Manila Standard.
“When I first sang with her, she really just blew everything away. I just really had to personally sing with Julie then because I’ve heard so much about her,” he continued.
“I just used to watch him before. As time goes by, I get to know Christian more, not just as an artist, but as a person. I learn a lot from him regarding our craft and about life,” Julie Anne said in response to the compliment she received from the seasoned balladeer.
The Kapuso Concerts is a joint project between the Network’s regional arm GMA Regional TV, GMA Entertainment Group, and GMA Pinoy TV.
“Following the very warm reception we received in our first The Sweetheart and the Balladeer: Fun Night Only concert in Iloilo last January, we are thrilled to bring the Kapuso Concerts to Cagayan de Oro City this July,” said GMA Regional TV Vice President and Head Oliver Amoroso.
