Following the success of the top-rating series My Special Tatay, stars Ken Chan and Rita Daniela team up once again, this time onstage for a concert happening on May 11, 7:00 p.m., at the Music Museum.
Entitled My Special Love – #BoBreyinCONCERT, the show marks the return of the onscreen couple as they celebrate the success of their series while giving back to the people that inspired the story of Boyet, Ken’s character in the story.
The highly-anticipated event is Ken and Rita’s way of expressing their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported them throughout the successful run of the now defunct My Special Tatay.
“It’s our way of thanking everyone. We want to honor those people who became part of our success. Part of the concert’s proceeds will go to an organization that supports children with special needs,” Ken shared with Manila Standard during an interview.
“We will tell a story of how we’re able to reach our dreams through the songs we will be performing. Maraming throwback na mangyayari,” he added.
On what fans could expect from the concert, Rita said that they’re giving their “150 percent performance” and that the show is something they haven’t done before.
“We’re really excited for the people we’re going to collaborate with. One of our guests yung mga batang may autism and intellectual disabilities. They’re part of our success. Whatever we have right now, they’re part of it. Dapat kasama rin namin sila.”
The concert will also feature performances from guest artists including The Clash alumni Jong Madaliday, Garrett Bolden, and Anthony Rosaldo.
But before they bring the #BoBrey kilig on the concert stage, the two multitalented stars also treated their fans with their individual singles.
Ken has released his newest single “1 Like” under GMA Music on April 30. It is now available for streaming on Apple Music, iTunes, and other digital stores worldwide. Its music video, directed by Miggy Tanchanco, is also available for streaming on GMA Music’s YouTube channel (GMAMusicOfficial).
Meanwhile, Rita has recently released her single “Florita”. It is composed by Rita herself and Randy Salvador. Distributed by GMA Music, ”Florita” is now available for streaming on Apple Music, iTunes, and other digital stores worldwide.
Meanwhile, the once dubbed as an “unlikely couple” will also have a follow-up project apart from the concert.
“I think (it will happen) this year but definitely kaming dalawa ulit ang magkakasama ni Rita for this new project. But honestly, we don’t know the title yet, or what kind of show it is but we have been informed na kaming dalawa ulit so we are happy about it. It is an answered prayer after My Special Tatay. I really prayed for it.” Ken revealed.
